Question type -VID

Videos aren’t actually an interactive element in the course, but 360° videos can be added to a course. This is particularly helpful to add an instructional video to a question or to further explain a scenario after a question.

To create a VID question, go to the Courses page and press the ‘Create new question’-button. A form will appear to create any type of linear question, select the “Video” type.

Form for a new Video ‘question’

Provide a name for the question and a description. This name is later also used when assigning questions to a linear course. An optional external ID can be added in case this question relates to data kept in an external database. A video doesn’t require much further settings.

A VR item (the background 360 environment) can be selected. These have to be priory uploaded via the ‘VR Content’ page. This is the video that will be played. Alternatively also a 360 image can be shown as VR Content. Students can skip the video (or the image) by clicking on the proceed button when the video is playing in the app.

Finally, the starting point needs to be set. After clicking the ‘Video Scene Editor’ button, the scene editor will show. As there are no interactive elements in this type of question at all, the only purpose for this editor is to set the starting point (the eye icon) which will be the direction the student will look at the moment the question starts in the headset.

Note: due to continuous development, the ‘Questions’ page as seen in the video can be found as a button on the linear course page instead of the side menu.
